This page opens with the timer already set to 45 minutes. Press Start or hit the spacebar and it begins; when time is up the alarm rings and the disk blinks. You can always drag the disk to a different time.
Time one half of a soccer match
Under IFAB Law 7, a match lasts two equal halves of 45 minutes, with a half-time interval of no more than 15 minutes.
- Start the timer at kick-off; the disk shows how much of the half is left.
- For a full match with half-time and a whistle, use the soccer timer, which runs both halves and the break in order.
- The referee decides how much time is added, so keep watching the official at the end.
One class period or tutoring session
If your school’s periods are 45 minutes long, open this page on the classroom screen at the start of the lesson. A visible disk lets the class pace an activity without the teacher announcing the time.
For one-to-one tutoring, a 10-minute heads-up leaves time to set homework before the session ends.
Reading a 45-minute disk
Forty-five minutes fills three quarters of the 60-minute dial, from 12 around to the 45 label at 9 o’clock. The empty quarter on the left is the part of the hour you are not using.
Questions about the 45 minute timer
How long is half-time in soccer?
Law 7 allows a half-time interval of up to 15 minutes. The soccer timer starts with 15 and lets you change it.
Can the back row of a classroom see it?
Put the page on the projector and switch to Focus mode, which hides everything except the disk.
Does this timer add stoppage time?
No, it ends at 45:00. Only the referee knows how much time is added; the soccer timer has a +1 min button for that.
