Updates
Changes you can see in Wontimer, newest first. Each entry is dated the day it went live on the site.
Soccer extra time
- When a regular soccer match ends, press Extra time to carry on with a 15-minute first half of extra time, a 1-minute break and the second half. Turn the disk before the first half of extra time to change its length.
A bigger end signal
- When time runs out without an alarm sound (on the silent timer page, or with Alarm sound set to Silent), the whole screen blinks in the disk color until you tap or press a key, in focus mode and the mini timer too.
- When the timer mode ends, the numbers no longer stop at 00:00. They show the time since the end, like +0:12.
Silent timer 3-second test
- The silent timer page now says that nothing beeps, not even at zero, and has a 3-second test button. Three seconds after you press it, the disk blinks just as it does at a real end, with no sound. Your set time and focus records stay as they were.
- On the silent timer page, the alarm, ticking and heads-up sounds stay off whatever the settings, so its Sound and display panel shows a short note instead of the sound options.
Silent timer page wording
- The silent timer pages in English, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese and Hindi now use the words people there actually search for (no sound, online, web timer) in the title, description and first paragraph.
Tidier controls
- Buttons, time chips and input boxes now use the same font and size as the rest of the page, and boxes side by side are the same height.
- The language menu is only as wide as the language you picked, and its arrow sits inside the edge.
Mini timer fix
- Pressing Mini timer again while it was open left the new window empty. It now shows the timer.
Repeat the alarm and add a minute
- New setting: repeat the alarm every 6 seconds for up to a minute, until you tap the screen or press a key. Off by default.
- While a timer runs or is paused, +1 min adds a minute without stopping it.
Timer links grouped by type
- The links under each timer are now grouped by length, exams, use and features, and each language shows only its own pages.
Minute timer pages in four more languages
- The 1- to 120-minute pages in Hindi, Indonesian, Portuguese and Spanish were rewritten for readers in India, Indonesia, Brazil and Spain, with sources.
- Corrected how the 25- and 90-minute pages describe the disk.
About page and this update log
- The About page now explains who runs Wontimer, why it exists, the principles it follows and how facts are checked.
- This page lists every change you can see, with the date it went live.
Guides
- Four guides in English: how to read a visual timer, the Pomodoro Technique, timeboxing and taking a timed practice test at home.
- Four guides in Korean, on reading the disk, Pomodoro study, tracking study time and mock exam practice.
- Each guide shows its author, when it was published and last updated, and the sources it relies on.
Minute timer pages rewritten
- The 1- to 120-minute timer pages in English, Korean and Japanese now explain what each length suits and how to read the disk at that length, answer common questions and list their sources.
- Each minute page now opens with its own time on the disk instead of 25:00.
Heads-up warnings, speech mode and new pages
- Optional heads-up 1, 2, 5 or 10 minutes before the end, with a short sound and a message. Off by default.
- Speech mode: the disk turns green, then yellow, then red as a speaker reaches the times you set, and shows how far they have run over. It makes no sound.
- New pages: a classroom timer and a speech timer in English, and exam timers in Japanese and Portuguese that follow the official timetables of the Common Test and the ENEM.
Mini timer keeps moving in other tabs
- Fixed a problem a user reported: the mini timer stopped moving when the Wontimer tab was no longer the active tab.
More questions answered on the home page
- The English home page now covers classroom smartboards, building a sense of time and sharing one timer link with a meeting or study group.
Suneung timer, typing the time and share links
- Suneung timer in Korean: times Korea's college entrance exam day period by period, with the real gaps between periods.
- Tap the time left to type the minutes directly.
- Share a link that opens the timer set to the same time.
- Tapping the disk while it runs shows where to pause.
Soccer and futsal match modes
- Match modes for soccer and futsal: halves and half-time follow each other on the disk, and a whistle sounds when each half ends.
- Add stoppage time a minute at a time in soccer, or stop the clock with one tap whenever play stops in futsal.
- Soccer timer and futsal timer pages in all seven languages.
The silent page silences the alarm too
- Opening the silent timer page now also sets the end alarm to silent and turns ticking off, and the setting stays as you move to other pages.
- Turn the alarm back on under Sound and display.
Clock-direction disk and three new pages
- The disk now reads like an ordinary clock: numbers run clockwise from 12, and the disk shrinks back toward 12 as time passes.
- New pages for a silent timer, a full-screen timer and a floating mini timer, in all seven languages.
- More on what the 25-, 50-, 90- and 120-minute timers are good for.
Wontimer launches
- A disk timer you set by dragging, in English, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, Indonesian, Portuguese and Spanish.
- Pomodoro cycles and a focus history with today's total and a 7-day chart, kept in your browser.
- An always-on-top mini timer, a full-screen focus mode and dark mode.
- Timer pages for 1 to 120 minutes, plus focus, study and online timer pages.
